Tell Me Your Ghost Story

Tell Me Your Ghost Story is a paranormal variety show - from interviews with people who have experienced the supernatural firsthand, to paranormal show and movie reviews, to field trip reports from haunted locations, to deep dives into the weirdest of topics, and lots of scary places in between. Host Kassie Askin isn’t trying to answer any of life’s biggest questions - instead, she strives to ask more questions and lean into the idea that some parts of reality are beyond our current understanding.

Alex McDonald recounts a visit to his long-distance girlfriend in LA. They begin to experience the sound of a woman crying in the apartment hallway - a sound that vanishes the moment they open the door to investigate. As the nights go on, the atmosphere darkens. Sleep becomes elusive and the disturbances escalate. One night at 3 AM, the sobbing moves inside the apartment. They trace the sounds to the bathroom where the cries escalate into thunderous banging on the bathtub walls. Terrified, they sleep outside and move out the next day. When facing the landlord, they discover the tragic history behind that apartment bathroom.

Horror author J. Hunter Richardson has some ghost stories - three to be exact. The first two? He’s got potential logical explanations for those. But his final story, set in the dorms of Humboldt State University in Northern California, holds a truly perplexing and reality-shifting detail that he hasn’t been able to explain even today, 20 years later. Tune in to hear the most unique story of a ghost interacting with a physical object I’ve ever heard.

You’d think a horror author like Jason Pargin would have a terrifying true paranormal encounter to share, but his real life brush with the unexplained is surprisingly ordinary… and somehow even weirder because of it. After returning home from a roadtrip with his wife, the two come to realize that her favorite necklace has seemingly vanished from her suitcase. They spend hours tearing apart the suitcase, searching their car, making calls to every stop along their roadtrip. Just when they’re about to give up for the night, the necklace reappears in an impossible way. Jason’s story won’t be the most frightening story you’ve ever heard, but it’s undeniably bizarre in a way that is sure to stick with you.

Is The Hollywood Medium really all he’s cracked up to be? We went to a Tyler Henry live audience reading to find out. Join me and my best friend Emily as we recount the experience - from searching the theater lobby for Tyler Henry spies, to interrogating theater employees, to speaking with the individuals who received readings - we went to the nth degree to formulate our answer. Will Mr. Henry earn the TMYGS Seal of Approval? Or is he a big ol faker? Tune in now to find out!

Big thank you to my research partner Emily. She has no social media to tag so I will forward all praise her way via fax.

Ivy’s fiancé Jehangeer passed away in a surfing accident in 2021. In the following months, Ivy begins to hear his voice and receive messages from him. One night Jehangeer speaks to Ivy, but this time he has a young girl with him. The girl tells Ivy she was murdered, which takes Ivy down a years-long path to find answers and justice.

Ivy’s story is THE most extraordinary story I’ve ever heard - it’s one of those stories that will stick with you for the rest of your life. It provides a lot of illuminating insight into life after death and brought a lot of hope and light into my own life. I’m truly honored that Ivy shared her story with me and I’m so excited for you all to hear it.

Alix has a familial gift of seeing ghosts - her grandma’s house was full of them. Her earliest memories involve playing with the 2 ghost children that lived inside grandma’s walls. Alix would later encounter several other ghosts, both at grandma’s house and at other locations, including one she came to discover was her great-grandmother.

This will be the last TMYGS episode of 2024! I am beyond excited for the episodes to come in 2025 - stay tuned!

In this special episode, Kassie takes you through her experience at Trepany House’s live horror experience ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, a parody of DisneyWorld’s terrifying extinct attraction of the same name. Trepany House describes this experience as a retelling of the original concept, in which the audience will experience 25 minutes of being face to face with a ferocious flesh-eating extraterrestrial whose only instinct is to release carnage upon this planet Earth. They also warn that being drenched in blood is unavoidable. If you’ve never heard of ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, have no fear, Kassie walks us through the history of the infamous attraction. But maybe you should have some fear, because this ride may be too intense for children and some adults. Please ride at your own risk.
